Studio Practice

Space carved as solid and furniture extracted

Led by Marek Vane with dual training in structural engineering and traditional furniture making, the practice treats architecture and object design as a single structural continuum.

The Workshop

Material honesty without artificial cladding

Every component expresses its true structural burden. Full-scale physical mockups and timber joinery are produced in-house before construction begins, ensuring millimeter tolerance from foundation to mortise.

By rejecting decorative veneers, the practice allows concrete, oak, bronze, and stone to weather and bear weight entirely on their own terms.

Millimeter Fabrication

Spatial volumes are tested as solid carved blocks before planimetry begins, mapping shadow paths across the site.

Raw cast concrete, structural steel, and unsteamed hardwoods are selected for direct tactile performance.

Joinery details and structural tolerances are resolved in-house through full-scale physical prototypes.

Manifesto

Form follows structural tension; timber expands, concrete cures, and steel bears weight without apology.
